It Happened One Night (Frank Capra, 1934): 89 Screenshots

When I re-watched this classic recently, what struck me, apart from the fact that it's got a great story and script, and Claudette Colbert and Clark Gable at their best, is how beautiful the film looked. It seems to exist in some wonderful dream world, far more, ironically, than Capra's Lost Horizon 3 years later. The cinematography was by Joseph Walker, who also did such great films as His Girl Friday (1940) Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941) and Born Yesterday (1950).
