(Left-click on any image once to enlarge) It's not a very good movie, but the cinematography is by the great Jack Cardiff, who made many beautiful-looking films with Powell and Pressburger in the 40's and the stunning Pandora and the Flying Dutchman (1951). So The Dogs of War, set in the US and Africa, at least looks great.

A Comprehensive Guide to 200 Rock and Pop Stars Who Have Acted in Movies
I’ve only included people from the rock era (1954 onwards), so people like Frank Sinatra have been left out, and stars of jazz, blues, and world music have also been excluded, though I have included a few pop stars from non English-speaking countries if they are internationally known and country music stars if they have had cross-over success and are known in the wider ‘pop music world’.
The names included here are all people who first became famous in the music world and then moved to films, not film stars who’ve dabbled in music or models who’ve gone on to work in both music and movies.
Documentaries and concert films are irrelevant to this list. These are all roles in fiction films. For a very few the role just consists of the singer performing a musical number within the story (Jarvis Cocker in Harry Potter and the Goblet in Fire, for example) but the vast majority are ‘proper’ acting roles.
I have included films like Hard Day’s Night and Spice World that consist of a storyline interspersed with songs and where the singers more or less play themselves. These are, after all, fictional stories with scripted lines. However, I’ve just listed them under the band name, not under individual band-member names.

75 Foreign Directors Who Have Made Movies In Britain
This list concerns movies both made and set in Britain, so old movies like David Copperfield (George Cukor, 1935) and Mrs Miniver (William Wyler, 1942), set in Britain but made on the Hollywood back-lot, are not included. Sometimes modern movies also use other countries as stand-in locations (eg Polanski’s Oliver Twist, made in the Czech Republic or Roland Emmerich’s Anonymous, made in Germany) but as long as it was wholly or mainly set in the UK and at least some of it has been filmed in the UK (like Braveheart for example, filmed in both Ireland and Scotland) I’ve included it.
For films where only a segment of the film takes place in the UK, I’ve included them only if it’s clear that the main focus is the UK, so Errol Morris’ Tabloid stayed in but Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter was left out.

Before They Were Famous: 100 Surprising Early Roles of Major Film Stars
Top: Stallone, Goldblum, Bronson, Schwarzenegger
Middle: Dean Stanton, McQueen, Spacey, Hopper
Bottom: Radcliffe, Robbins, Brosnan, Jackson
Many actors of course serve long apprenticeships before they become stars, and this is a list of interesting match-ups during such apprenticeships, where films memorable for other reasons contain surprises a long way down in their credits. The stars concerned, at this early stage of their careers, usually have only minor roles, sometimes so small they could aptly be described as ‘blink and you’ll miss them’. Above all, the criteria for inclusion in this list was that the mere fact of it should make the average film fan go ‘Jeez! Was he/she really in that?’

160 Movie Stars and the TV Shows They've Appeared In
This is a list of appearances in TV programs and mini-series by people known
primarily as movie stars. I’ve excluded the likes of Ted Danson, Robert
Vaughn, Ian McShane and Lorraine Bracco because their TV work is
more substantial than their movie work. I have also excluded talk shows
and variety shows, TV movies, one-off TV plays, and voice-only
appearances (for example in a cartoon series).
Vaughn, Ian McShane and Lorraine Bracco because their TV work is
more substantial than their movie work. I have also excluded talk shows
and variety shows, TV movies, one-off TV plays, and voice-only
appearances (for example in a cartoon series).
Most of the roles listed are substantial ones lasting at least three or four
episodes, but there are a few odd cameos, guest appearances and early-in-
their-career bit roles thrown in for fun. It’s presented simply as a quick
reference guide for some of the most famous examples of this phenomenon.
It’s not of course a complete list of movie stars’ TV credits, even for the
movie stars listed here. More information about each role can easily be
found elsewhere on the internet.
