This was one of a handful of films Billy Wilder wrote before he started directed; the combination of him and Lubitsch is a really good one, and this is a fun film. I was never much of a fan of Gary Cooper in serious pictures like High Noon, but in comedies like this and Ball of Fire and Love in the Afternoon, I think he's great.
