The Killers (Robert Siodmak, 1946): 44 Screenshots
This is one of the first films I'd recommend to anyone who doesn't usually watch old black and white movies because they think they're boring. I don't see how any sane person could claim this film is dull. In fact it's as cool and sexy as any Quentin Tarantino movie, and it's more fast-paced, plus Burt Lancaster and Ava Gardner are superb in it.

The Miracle Worker (Arthur Penn, 1962): 68 Screenshots
I'd never seen this classic until a few weeks ago. I finally understood what all the fuss was about. Anne Bancroft and child star Patty Duke (as deaf and blind Helen Keller) are amazing in their roles and have such an epic battle of wills that the film is gripping from start to finish.
